Designed as a carved coral ladybug atop a textured gold leaf, the ladybug accented by six small round diamonds and black enamel details, gross weight approximately 16 dwts, signed Cartier Paris, numbered 3823, with French assay and maker's marks; circa 1950.
Condition
In good condition, with light surface wear to the mounting. The coral is a light orangy pink, with some very minor mottling visible under direct light. The diamonds are near colorless and decorative in quality. The portion of the brooch on which the ladybug sits is hinged, to allow for different modes of wear. Numbered 3823 under the pinbridge, numbered 013498 on the top of the pinbridge.
