The first strand composed of 102 natural pearls measuring approximately 7.2 to 3.2 mm, the clasp set with an oval-shaped opal framed by old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately .35 carat, mounted in gold and platinum, length 20 inches; together with a strand composed of 87 natural pearls measuring approximately 6.1 to 2.0 mm, the clasp set with an old European-cut diamond weighing approximately .15 carat, mounted in 14 karat white gold, length 15ΒΌ.

Condition

Both necklaces in good condition. OPAL CLASP: The round to near-round pearls have a creamy to silvery white body color, fair luster, some light rose overtones throughout, several examples showing wrinkled skins and a few showing light pitting. The opal in the clasp shows a strong interplay of colors, predominantly greens, blues, and oranges. The diamonds are near colorless and decorative in quality. Fitted with a safety closure. DIAMOND CLASP: The off-round to ovoid pearls has a creamy white body color, with some examples showing rose overtones, medium luster, with several examples of ringing and pitting throughout. The diamond in the clasp is approximately I-J color, VS clarity. With a 14 karat gold clasp. Necklace could benefit from a re-stringing.
