Description

  • platinum, gold, emerald, sapphire, diamond
Designed as a peacock feather, the eye centered by a fancy-cut cabochon emerald framed by 16 calibré-cut sapphires, further set with round and single-cut diamonds; circa 1900.

Condition

In good condition. The kidney-shaped emerald is a vibrant medium green, moderately included with some minute nicking to the surface. The calibré-cut sapphires are medium violetish blue, well-matched for color and lightly included. The center motif may be mounted on a spring (therefore it is not fixed in place). The13 round diamonds in eye and the diamond at the end of the feather are approximately H-I color, VS clarity. The rest of the diamonds are near colorless and decorative in quality. There is some evidence of soldering to a few of the plumes, this is mostly confined to the tips.

Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
