In good condition with some evidence of light surface scratching to the gold. The malachite is intact and displays color banding throughout as typical of its appearance. Minor chipping and abrading to the onyx, more apparent along the edges of the onyx segments towards the bottom of the frame. Signed on the bottom gold segment that outlines the photograph. Please note that the illustration in the printed catalogue is not actual size. Please also note that the glass in the frame will be replaced for the purchaser by Sotheby's.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
