Composed of stippled gold links and carved jade plaques depicting fish, accented by cabochon rubies, the pendant designed as a carved jade dragon supporting a carved ruby, length 16 inches, all signed Webb, carved ruby pendant detaches, carved jadeite dragon detaches and can be worn as a brooch.
Condition
Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from David Webb. The sculptural necklace in very good condition, bearing a very considerable heft, gross weight approximately 297.2 dwts. The jade panels opaque, dark mossy green, the pendant exhibiting dark inclusions. The rubies are all opaque and medium-deep, slightly deeper than seen in the printed catalogue; the drop-shape pendant is nicely carved with a floral motif. The gold is more yellow than seen in the printed catalogue. The dragon pendant is approximately 2 1/4 x 3 inches. Please note the necklace is set with jade, not jadeite as stated in the catalogue.
