Designed as a flowerhead set in the center with a cushion-shaped emerald weighing 22.51 carats, the curved petals set with old mine diamonds weighing approximately 26.00 carats, accented by lines of square-cut emeralds.
Condition
Accompanied by SSEF report no. 51701 stating that the emerald is of Colombian origin, indications of clarity modification, minor amount of oil in fissures. In good condition with gentle surface wear and tarnish commensurate with age. The emerald is an intensely saturated medium-deep slightly bluish green and moderately included. The 60 square-cut emeralds are a shade lighter in color and lightly included. The 130 old mine-cut diamonds are approximately F-J color, VS-SI clarity with the occasional I clarity examples. Brooch fitting probably later-added. Provenance: Property of a Royal Family, Christie's, Geneva, November 20, 2008, lot 1359.
