The necklace supporting a pendant set with an oval ruby weighing approximately 1.75 carats, framed and surmounted by old European-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.60 carats, accented by smaller cushion-shaped rubies, length 15 inches; the pendant-earrings set with oval rubies weighing approximately 2.15 and 1.80 carats, framed and surmounted by round, old European-cut, single-cut and baguette diamonds weighing approximately 4.50 carats, mounted in platinum, two diamonds missing from earrings.

Condition

Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 47901 stating that the 1.75 carat ruby is of Burmese origin, heat enhancement: none; and AGL report no. CS 47899 A & B stating that the 2.15 and 1.80 carat rubies are of Burmese origin, heat enhancement: none. The rubies are a lively medium slightly pinkish red color and are of good clarity, deeper than they appear in the printed catalogue. A few surface reaching inclusions. Diamonds are approximately F-G color and VS-I clarity. The mounting for the necklace appears to be composed of platinum-topped gold which has been later plated with a white metal such as rhodium. The necklace is fitted with a yellow gold barrel clasp and safety closure. All pieces in good condition, unless noted otherwise.
