Description

  • David Webb
  • 18 karat gold, platinum, cultured pearl, diamond, emerald, enamel, bracelet
Of a crossover design depicting two snake heads, one set with a black color baroque cultured pearl measuring approximately 16.8 by 13.7 mm., the other set with a white baroque cultured pearl measuring approximately 17.0 by 13.8 mm., both framed by round and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.00 carats, the eyes set with cabochon emeralds, the bracelet composed of snake scale links applied with white enamel, adjustable length, signed Webb, one diamond missing.

Condition

Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from David Webb. In good overall condition. Minor losses to the enamel on the black-pearl serpent's nose and to the white-pearl serpent's "ears." The enamel to the underside of the bracelet--the most common area for enamel loss--remains intact. The dark pearl is a deep aubergine-grey with strong pink purple, blue, green and gold overtones and a waxy luster. The white pearl presents strong pink, purple, blue and green overtones and a satiny luster. Both pearls with typical wrinkling and irregularities; thinning to the nacre at the base of the white pearl. The translucent emeralds are slightly bluish medium green and decorative in quality. The diamonds are approximately F-G color, VS clarity. Bearing a nice heft (approximately 93.2 dwts). The bracelet remains tightly sprung and fits a small-to-medium wrist (would be snug on a larger wrist). Please note that one diamond is missing and will be replaced for the purchaser by Sotheby’s.
