Description

- 18 karat gold, platinum, jadeite, diamond, ruby, pendant-necklace
The pendant set with a pierced and carved jadeite plaque depicting a dragon, framed by round diamonds weighing approximately 3.10 carats, and cabochon rubies, completed by a graduated double-strand necklace composed of jadeite beads, accented by stippled gold plaques set with round diamonds weighing approximately 4.00 carats, pendant detaches and can be worn as a brooch, length 23 inches. With signed pouch.
Condition
Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from David Webb. In very good condition. The semi-translucent, apple-green to spinach green jadeite presents moderate color mottling and is more yellowish-green than appears in the printed catalogue. The beads maintain a nice polish and the front of the openwork plaque is well-carved. The transculent medium to medium-deep pinkish red rubies are primarily heavily included but present a high polish. The diamonds are approximately F-G color, VVS-VS clarity. The clasp is a double-scroll design, similar to the spacers though without diamonds. Please note that one strand of jade beads has become detached and will be repaired for the purchaser by Sotheby’s.
