Emerald and diamond brooch

Of flower head design, set at the centre with a cushion-shaped emerald, the petals highlighted with cushion-shaped and circular-cut diamonds, French assay and partial maker's marks, later brooch fitting, fitted case.

Mounted in silver-topped gold, later added pin stamped with French assay mark for 18 carat gold. Emerald estimated to measure approximately 18.90 x 18.10 mm, depth not measurable due to mounting, with typical crystal inclusions, few surface reaching, one resulting in a cavity on the girdle, few scratches and nicks on the surface. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 18.00 - 20.00 carats, on average of G-I colour and VS-SI clarity (few I), as gauged and graded in mounting. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use and age. Well preserved and in good condition.
