Description
Claw-set with an oval ruby weighing 5.54 carats, within an undulating border of tapered baguette diamonds, size 54.
Condition
Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece may contain rubies of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin will be required before import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information.
Accompanied by SSEF report. no. 65609, stating that the ruby is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
According to the SSEF report, the ruby measures 10.78 x 8.79 x 6.43 mm, red of medium strong saturation. The ruby with minor scratches to table surface and chipping to one side of girdle, visible under x10 magnification. Typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching on pavilion. Diamonds estimated to weigh less than 1.00 carat, bright and lively, as gauged in mounting. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition.
