Description

  • 14 carat gold, turquoise, diamond, natural pearl
Of latticework design punctuated with polished turquoise and rose diamonds, separated by rows of natural half-pearls interspersed with cushion-shaped and circular-cut diamonds, length approximately 177mm.

Provenance

Queen Olga of Greece, Grand Duchess of Russia (1851-1926); to her son, Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark (1882-1944); to his daughter, Princess Sophie of Greece and Denmark (1914-2001).

Thence by descent to the present owner.

Condition

Stamped 585 for 14 carat gold. Clasp stamped with PJ and 72, indistinctly scratched in number 1115098. Minor discolouration to the turquoises, very little matrix showing, well matched in colour. Half pearls of white body colour with rosé and green overtones, few blemishes, good lustre. Diamonds bright and lively. Clasp secure. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition.
