Natural pearl, emerald and diamond brooch, late 19th century

The surmount of ribbon design, suspending a cushion-shaped emerald and natural pearl drop, millegrain-set with circular-cut and cushion-shaped diamonds, French import marks, brooch fitting detachable.

Mounted in silver-topped gold. Brooch fitting stamped with French import mark for gold. Emerald estimated to measure approximately 11.2 x 9.9 x 6.4 mm, estimated to weigh approximately 3.70 carats, with typical crystal inclusions, few surface reaching, some scratches and abrasions. According to SSEF, the pearl measures approximately 6.60 - 6.75 x 10.10 mm, of white body colour, faint rosé and green overtones, good lustre, minor banding and blemishes. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 2.50 carats, on average of H-J colour and VS-I clarity, as gauged and graded in mounting. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition.
