Designed as a flying fish, the body composed of an abalone pearl, set with various gemstone including cabochon rubies, cushion-shaped emeralds, circular- and single-cut diamonds, resting upon a polished coral branch and cascading algae applied with translucent green enamel, signed David Webb 1967, measuring 130 x 65 x  190mm.

Condition

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US, this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Nr 12-1-0146, stating the abalone pearl was found to be natural. Accompanied by David Webb certificate of authenticity, style no. 141220B. Stamped 585 for gold. Signed David Webb 1967, likely indicating the year of manufacture. Cabochon ruby with typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching. Two cushion-shaped emeralds with typical crystal inclusions, well matched in colour. Green enamel in very good condition. Abalone pearl body with a crack at the tip of the tail /caudal fin (visible on the catalogue image), good lustre and strong rosé and green overtones. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 28.00-32.00 carats, bright and lively, on average SI clarity. Polished coral branch in very good condition, with natural veining, cavities, and whitish striations. Gold slightly tarnished/oxidised. In good condition.
