The two strands composed of 26 cultured pearls measuring approximately 11.4 to 10.0 mm, the clasp set with three old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.70, 1.10 and 1.05 carats, respectively, framed by numerous round diamonds weighing approximately 1.25 carats, length 7 inches, the clasp signed Monture Cartier, with French assay and workshop marks, circa 1910.
Provenance
The diamond clasp formerly from the Collection of Countess Mona Bismarck, sold by Sotheby's Geneva, lot 28, May 15, 1986.
Condition
In good condition. The pearls are a creamy white hue with overtones of green and pink, with exceptionally nice luster and nearly blemish-free. The pearls have a greater luster than illustrated in the printed catalogue. Diamonds are approximately G-J color, VS-SI clarity, with one of the diamonds chipped along the girdle. Fitted with a safety closure.
