Catalogue Note
Jean Cocteau et Maurice Sachs entretirent une relation tumultueuse. Tout d'abord faite d'admiration si l'on s'en refaire à La Décade de l'illusion (1932) dans lequel Sachs dépeint Cocteau avec enthousiasme. Mais dans son ouvrage posthume Le Sabbat, paru en 1946, Sachs en parle avec amertume et déception, renversement lié à la rebellion de Sachs devant l'emprise que Cocteau exercait sur lui et le peu d'estime que Cocteau lui témoigna par la suite.
