Condition

This painting on masonite has been reinforced around the edges with a wooden framework, which is homemade but effective. The surface has been finely gessoed and sanded, and is extremely smooth. The paint layer is very exact and finely executed. The glassy finish to the work is certainly integral to the painting's success, and there have been no interruptions, scratches or other damages to this lovely finish. It is recommended that the work be hung as is. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.)
