Condition

Craquelure is visible throughout the painting, particularly in the ocean and sky and in the grass in the lower left quadrant. There is a small area of paint loss present in the white break of the wave in the lower left quadrant. The surface does appear stable overall; however, upon inspection. The canvas is unlined and well-stretched. Frame abrasion is visible to the center of the extreme left edge and the lower right edge. Under ultra-violet inspection, the rocks in the lower right quadrant fluoresce. Additionally, a small area of in-painting is visible to the right of the artist signature, in the center of the bottom edge of the canvas, and scattered specks of in-painting are present in the lower left quadrant. Overall, the work is in generally good condition.
