Condition
This painting has been lined and the reverse of the lining canvas has been painted white. The edges of the original canvas beneath the framing tape seem to have been trimmed with pinking shears. Carrington's complex technique is well preserved, and there are no visible damages or restorations. Although there is a diagonal scratch in the pot over the fire that has been restored, this seems to be the only visible restoration to the work. The painting should be hung as is.
