This painting is unlined, cleaned and varnished. The frame is fairly new. Gerzso has used a very scraped and abraded paint layer to express his concept in this work. One can see that there is an intentional thinness to the paint layer in certain areas, such as in the buildings in the lower half of the picture and beneath the rays of the moonlight. In the upper right quadrant of the sky, this abrasion has received quite a lot of retouching. While the retouches may address a texture and thinness that was intentional by the artist, it is also possible that there is some slight abrasion in this area that has required retouching. Regardless, the retouches are slightly discolored and not beautifully applied. In order to make the most of this picture, the restoration should be reexamined in order to correct the color and to determine if these retouches are necessary.
