Condition

The panel is in very good condition considering its age. The painted panel is tightly bound and displays no significant losses. The pinstripe lines are moderately crisp and legible. They vary in thickness and have a loose painterly appearance. There is a horizontal scuff near the bottom that runs the width of the pinstriped panel that was caused by the bars coming in contact with the surface. This is commonly seen on Soto's with suspended elements. No damage was noted on the surface. Minor dimensional cracks were observed at the joints of the white frame, which is consistent of aged wood. The metal bars are in very good condition. The flat black paint is stable. The center of each steel bar has deliberately not been painted and polished instead. The white frame, which has a slight bow to it, is structurally sound. All of the suspended metal bars are accounted for and display minor wear with some corrosion products evident on the surface but no significant damage.
