This painting has been lined onto aluminum and mounted onto a panel using wax as an adhesive. This method of lining may be a little heavy, but it is easy to reverse if necessary. The painting has probably become slightly dulled by the wax. Although it is hard to read under ultraviolet light, there do not appear to be any restorations. It seems that the work is in beautiful condition and could easily be hung in its current state. However, reversing the lining may well improve the picture.
