Condition
Oil on panel. There are two pieces of masking tape adhered to the reverse of the panel, on the upper right and upper left corners. The picture surface is in generally good condition aside from some minor frame abrasions along the extreme edges, especially the right edge. Under UV light: there are some very small scattered inpaintings to address previous abrasions scattered along the extreme edges. There are a few small areas that fluoresce differently, notably in the center of the sitter's head, under his eyes, and in his coat below his beard. These may be from a different medium potentially applied by the artist himself.
