Of rectangular form, the lid embellished with a mosaic of black opals, the sides and reverse with reeded decoration, measurements approximately 28 x 25 x 12mm, signed Cartier London, British hallmarks.

Condition

This lot is offered without a reserve. Stamped 375 and 9 for 9 carat gold. British hallmarks for Birmingham, 1953, numbered K434. Opal with good play-of-colour, predominantly green and blue, in the centre more red and yellow; few scratches and nicks. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition.
