The oval frame with a border of millegrain set rose diamonds and annular decoration accented with circular-cut stones, the picture depicting one of Suzanne Belperron's cat, the gold ring set with a ceramic scarab, size 46.

Condition

This lot is offered without a reserve. Frame: Diamonds of decorative quality. The leather 'holder' at the back of the frame is broken, it holds thanks to the ribbon, evidence of glue. Glue marks also on photograph. Metal on frame and ring with signs of wear, scratches consistent with use. In good condition.

Catalogue Note

The ring is a precious souvenir of Suzanne Belperron's honeymoon in Egypt in 1924 and a testimony of her interest in the art of ancient civilisations. This journey inspired many of her creations.
