Description
- 18 kt gold, platinum, sapphire, pink tourmaline, diamond
Modelled as two flowers, the brooch set with thirteen oval and cushion-shaped sapphires together weighing approximately 22.00 carats, highlighted by a flower centre set with a cushion-shaped yellow sapphire weighing approximately 7.00 carats, embellished by pink tourmaline-set stems and circular-cut diamond-set leaves, signed, circa 1940.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the sapphires are of very light to medium blue colour and one sapphire is of slightly purplish tone. Centre yellow sapphire is of medium tone. Most of the stones are eye clean. Upon 10x loupe, the sapphries have included crystals and silky inclusions. On general, there are surface abrasions on these sapphires and yellow sapphire, consistent with its age. Pink toumalines are of medium, rusty purple pink colour, eye clean. Diamonds are about G to I colours, VS to SI clarity. Signed to the back.
Condition: Karat gold mount, signs of wear and surface abrasions to the metal. There is slight discolouration at the hinge of the clip, not seen to the obverse, overall in good condition.
