Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the largest old-mine cut diamond in the middle is about L to M colours, SI clarity, lively stone. Pear-shaped diamonds on the tassel on average weigh more than 1.20 carat each, are about J to K colours, VS2 to SI clarity. Other diamonds are about J to L colours, VS2 to SI clarity. Provenance: This Victorian diamond brooch is formerly in the collection of H.R.H. Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, aunt to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This brooch was a wedding gift from her husband H.R.H. Henry Duke of Gloucester, brother of the Duke of Windsor in 1935. Condition: The centre old-mine cut diamond setting can be detached and there are three tiny rose-cut diamonds missing from the claws, not noticeable. Antique silver-topped gold mount, surface abrasions to the metal and minor repair marks to the back, overall in good condition.
