The present and following lots depict a detailed panoramic view of Mount Satrunjaya with its multiple temple complexes, shrines, reservoirs and rest areas, visited by a procession of pilgrims traversing the route on palanquins and on foot. The site is one of the most sacred places of pilgrimage for Jains and houses over 300 temples and shrines, ranging in date from the 10th century to the present time, all of which are faithfully recorded in the patas. Dominating the complex is the temple of Adinatha with its golden spire, seen on the upper left in both paintings.
