Catalogue Note

A voluptuous beauty is pictured here, adorned in sumptuous ornaments, her body curved in an exaggerated arch, her richly patterened red ghagra contrasting vividly with the bright yellow background. In the words of B. N. Goswamy, she embodies, "young passionate beauty... suffused with the longing for love."
