Description
- Maurice de Vlaminck
- CHAMP DE BLÉS
- signed Vlaminck (lower right)
- oil on canvas
- 60.1 by 73.2cm., 23 5/8 by 28 7/8 in.
Provenance
Private Collection, France
Condition
The canvas is strip lined. There is an uneven varnish through which the UV light cannot fully penetrate but there do appear to be some spots of retouching visible under UV light, mainly to the edges. There are some fine lines of craquelure in places, a few tiny paint losses, and the canvas is very slightly undulated at the centre of the left edge. Otherwise, this work is in overall good conditon.
Colours: Overall fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though brighter and livelier in the original.
