Condition
On cream paper. The artist's pinholes are evident in each corner as well as in the center lower edge. The corners appear to have been reinforced or repaired. There is some minor surface dirt, especially near the extreme edges, but the colors of the gouache are vibrant and fresh. The yellow pigment exhibits pigment separation, especially at the edges where it is more thickly applied, and there are some minor losses to the vertical blue section in the upper right quadrant. In generally good condition.

A lithograph, titled Entraves, was printed by Erker-Press in 1965. This lithograph was later included in the album “La Forêt Humaine”. The composition of the lithograph is closely related to the present work.
