La plaque est gravée : Jas Patk Crichton Stuart 1859.

Patrick James Herbert Crichton Stuart (1794-1859), petit-fils du premier marquis de Bute, fut membre du Parlement, Lord Lieutenant de Bute et Constable du Château de Cardiff.

Condition

Some slight discolouration to shagreen mainly visible on lid. Implements comprise: tortoiseshell-handled double-bladed knife, steel tweezers, gold-handled scissors (one handle split), spiral gold propelling pencil, gold-topped dividers, gilt-metal folding ruler, gold spralling toothpick (possibly later). Otherwise generally good order.
