Catalogue Note

The present lot was retailed by Maison Fouquet, the venerable Parisian jewelry firm founded by Alphonse Fouquet. The firm was at the forefront of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco jewelry movement. The enamel decoration of the present lot is very similar to a series of watches which were presented at the Paris Exposition of 1925. This enamel technique is distinctly Art Deco, and today there are very few similar examples known.

For a note on the collaboration between Vacheron Constantin and Verger Frères and another example from this period, see the lot 88.
