Catalogue Note

With a fitted presentation box and outer packaging.

In 2006, Patek Philippe produced 300 examples of Ref. 5350, the firm's second 'Advanced Research' model. It furthered the innovations of the first model, Ref. 5250, by supplementing the movement with a Spiromax hairspring to the Silinvar escape wheel. This element allows the escapement to achieve isochronous vibration and therefore a higher rate of accuracy. The watch has been fitted with a specially shaped balance cock to allow the Spiromax hairspring and the nearly black silicon escape wheel to be more easily viewed. The 21k gold rotor is fitted with a zirconium ball bearing as is the silicon escape wheel which never needs to be lubricated.

The evolution of the Advanced Research family is a testament to Patek Philippe's unwavering commitment to technological advancements, one of the core values of the firm since the patents awarded to its founders in the 19th century.
