Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a period fitted presentation case.

The present lot was previously part of the refined horological collection of Willis R. Michael, who was a prominent member and president of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors.

This particularly elegant open faced watch was made by renowned French clock and watch maker, Robert Robin (1741-1799), who counted Marie-Antoinette as part of his clientele. Additionally, one of his many achievements was creating a watch escapement that bears his name.
