• the rectangular case with polychrome enamel lid depicting a Swiss mountain scene, concealing the singing bird • the brightly feathered bird rising from a bird-shaped reserve, with swiveling body, flapping wings and moving beak • the bird activated by a white enamel bird form slide • case top enameled overall with fanciful Alpine scenes inhabited by castles, waterfall, bridge and boat • the side panels further polychrome enameled with Swiss mountain scenes including one depicting the Matterhorn

Amusing enamel scenes and of typical German mid century quality. The bird is in working order, although the tempo seems a bit fast. It may require adjustment. The top enamel scene is in generally good condition. The lid has a misshapen metal frame and the green enamel of the lawn on the lid is possibly restored as the color is not consistent with the remaining enamel to the top. With minor enamel losses to the decorative square borders, to the black enamel on one corner and one very minor area of loss to the back oval panel at the edge at the 2 and 7 o'clock positions. The blue stringing at the bottom right front column further with small enamel loss. Overall with amusing Swiss mountain scenes.
