Condition
The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The dial is in very good condition with no visible hairlines or cracks. The case shows light to moderate surface scuffs.

With an Extract from the Archives confirming sale with enamel painting and ruby indexes on October 8th, 1956.
This watch was produced as part of a special order from the Patek Philippe retailer in Saudi Arabia to honor King Ibn Saud. A small order of Ref. 2481 wristwatches were ordered to honor the King. It is far less common to find a pocket watch such as the present example with the royal portrait.
Born in 1876, Abdul al Aziz al Saud, known as Ibn Saud, in 1932 became the first king of modern Saudi Arabia. Under his reign, the Kingdom prospered, especially after the 1938 discovery of oil beneath his sands.
