  • A RARE 18K GOLD SQUARE WRISTWATCH WITH UNUSUAL LUGS1951 REF 2490 MVT 957152 CASE 666713
  • width 25 mm, length 38 mm
• cal. 10-200 circular manual winding nickel lever movement, 18 jewels • silvered guilloché dial, applied baton indexes, subsidiary seconds • square case, flared quadrangular lugs, snap back • case, dial and movement signed

Condition

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The dial shows spotting toward the edges, mostly between 4 and 5 o'clock. The dial has aged and has acquired a slightly yellow/green tone. The case is in very nice condition and the shape is well preserved with two strong gold marks visible, one to the band and one to the back of the upper left lug. Ref. 2490 was launched in 1951 in yellow and pink gold, with the latter metal comprising approximately one-third of the production. According to our research, the present lot is one of only three examples of Ref. 2490 in pink gold to appear at auction.
