Catalogue Note

The present model is part of a selection of 6 iconic watches reinterpreted by IWC in 2008 to commemorate their 140th anniversary. It was made in only 500 pieces. The original Pilot watch, released in 1936, was fashioned with aviation navigation instruments and aircraft cockpits in mind. In addition to visually embodying characteristics of flight, the watch was crafted to be precise and durable enough to withstand the conditions of piloting an aircraft.
