Catalogue Note
Celebrating their 250th anniversary Vacheron Constantin came out with different highly complicated timepieces among which the Saint Gervais was made exclusively in platinum with a limited series of 55 pieces. The entire complexity of this model is based on its calibre incorporating a 250 hour power reserve, perpetual calendar and tourbillon cage rotating in one minute. This most exclusive model launched in 2005 was a world premiere employing four simultaneously working barrels. The autonomy indicated by two power reserve sectors, the right one graduated 0-125 and the left one 25-250 offers this model a unique consistency of power efficiency never achieved by others at the time. All functions contained in this highly complicated movement were made possible with a total of 411 components and were the best tribute to the art of horology of Vacheron Constantin for its 250th anniversary. All elements of this movement were decorated and assembled according to highest standards of the Seal of Geneva only granted to the best of the best. This 250th anniversary watch was given the name Saint Gervais to make reference to Geneva’s traditional watchmaking area where was based the original historic home of Vacheron Constantin’s headquarters.
