Catalogue Note

The present watch is a very rare reference 1680 Red Submariner model made for the Peruvian Air Force Pilots in approximately 1974. It is recognisable with the inscription "Fuerza Aerea Del Peru"  engraved to the case back as well as the complete serial number inscribed inside the case back. Furthermore the individual progressive number attributed to each watch and engraved to the outside case back remains visible on this particular example. The national air force was known in the late 1920's as the Cuerpo de Aviación del Perú (Peruvian Aviation Corps, CAP) and became the Fuerza Aérea del Perú (Air Force of Peru, FAP) on July 18th 1950, during the presidency of Manuel A. Odría.
