light chocolate-brown patina beneath dark brown lacquer.

Condition

Minor dents, rubbing, and surface abrasions throughout. Verdegris. Loss to front of proper left side of plume surmounting helmet of finial figure. Interior of inkwell with remnants from fitting for an ink receptacle, with some cracking and losses. Bottoms of feet filed. Holes to center of chest of two of three satyrs supporting the well. One with pit to one side. Some other minor pitting and casting flaws.
