Unlined. under extremely dirty and discolored old varnish. paint surface has been very well preserved and there is quite nice retention of detail. there are two small paint losses at lower left corner. the impression from the stretcher bars in slightly visible on the front all around edges. not much can be seen under ultraviolet light due to the thick and dirty varnish, just a few retouches in foreground. this painting has not been attended to in a very long time and would benefit from a light cleaning and sensitive restoration. In a carved and gilt wood frame with nicks and losses.
