Tightly relined and surface has been pressed as a result. some areas, such as the tree and foliage at left, the background landscape and the clouds, are somewhat thin as well. the composition as a whole still reads reasonably well and presents a decorative image. under ultraviolet: there are scattered numerous retouches throughout sky and some scattered in trees at left. there is a vertical line of retouching from top to bottom, about 2 inches in from the left side, over what appears to be on an old crease or fold in the canvas, and another vertical line of retouching in sky (about 1 inch down from the top edge) that runs from right to left almost all the way across. the foreground and trees at right look better.
