Panel is uncradled, flat and stable. it is beveled on all four sides. under a somewhat dirty old varnish. overall the paint surface has been very well preserved and there is lovely retention of detail throughout. under ultraviolet, one can see some small dots of retouching scattered among the figures and a couple areas of retouching along bottom edge. there has been a test clean area over the signature at lower left.
