Catalogue Note
This composition relates closely to two works of this subject by Valerio Castello (see C. Manzitti, Valerio Castello, Turin 2004, pp. 163-4, cat. nos. 154-55, reproduced). The present painting may be an early work by Biscaino when he was working in Castello's studio.
