Condition
The canvas is unlined with a slight cleavage between the paint and support on the central left hand edge and a very small hole in the upper right hand corner. The canvas is slightly buckled on the left hand upper section with a resulting minor crease in the surface. The paint surface is secure and in good condition under a thick discolored varnish. The darks on the right side of the face are somewhat sunken. A reading under UV is impeded by the thick varnish, there is possible strengthening to the right side of the face and some fine retouching along the line of the cleavage on the left hand edge.
