The kidney-shaped brooch depicting a high relief gold Sphinx in profile with outstretched wings, within a background of lavender enamel, framed by small rose-cut diamonds, the reverse applied with lavender enamel, signed Lalique; the pendant watch with circular cream dial with Arabic numerals, the reverse applied with lavender enamel and textured gold flowers, manual movement, unsigned.

Condition

Overall very good condition, enamel completely intact on both the brooch and the watch. The brooch signed LALIQUE along the edge at the top. The diamonds are rose-cut, near colorless, with good brilliance. The watch is presently running, recently cleaned, overhauled and timing adjusted for accuracy; porcelain dial with applied blue Arabic numerals, gold pearled minute track and Louis XV-style gold hands, case stamped with French import mark (owl) and numbered 16629; the movement is size 9L/7 bridges design, 16 jewels, with Maltese cross mainspring protection, high grade style balance, watchmaker’s mark JP&F, Geneve; watch diameter 25.3 cm.; gilt movement, lever escapement, blued steel hairspring, and setting lever pin at 11 o’clock.
