Catalogue Note

The present wall lights were made after a model executed by André-Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814) for the dining room at Petit Trianon in 1805 and transferred to Fontainebleau on July 11 the same year for the dining room of Empress Josephine, see Jean-Pierre Samoyault, Pendules et bronze d'ameublement entrés sous le premier Empire, Paris, 1989, p.129, fig. 95.
