This pair of candelabra is decorated with the identical budding leaf motif that can be found on the shafts of a pair of ormolu torchères signed Thomire 1811 and of a pair of ormolu and patinated bronze torchères, both in the château de Versailles, see Pierre Arizzoli-Clémentel and Jean-Pierre Samoyault, Le Mobilier De Versailles: Chefs-d'oeuvre du XIXe Siècle, Dijon, 2009, pp. 263 and 353, respectively.
